Book Summery:
Julia and Jaxon have been best friends since she was a young teenager, however feelings on Julia's end developed stronger as they got closer, and the older she got. When Jaxon joins the Navy Seals, and leaves to attend bootcamp training, Julia doesn't want him to go without telling him. Awkward chemistry follows them after Julia visits Jaxon, and they are on unknown territory between them. 5 years later an emergency happens and Julia travels to be there for him, Jaxon turns her away and she decided this is the end of her relationship. A year later, Jaxon is back and ready to grovel and beg for Julia's forgiveness. When Julia's life is at risk with a dangerous stalker, Jaxon decides she needs him. Can the two keep it platonic?
Book Review:
I thought the book was cute, a little on the predictable side. I am a sucker for a good enemies to lovers, and this is a friends to lovers trope, and it was just as good. Jaxon however was really unfortunate in his childhood, and this causes the man to have some serious issues with commitment. He doesn't do relationships, he doesn't want kids, and he definitely doesn't want to be married. When he and Julia get closer, and start progressing their relationship to more, Julia finds out she's pregnant. Her life is turned upside down as she thought she could never get pregnant after struggling with PCOS (Polycystic ovary syndrome). When she realizes she has to tell Jaxon, she is terrified because he has made it clear he does NOT want to be a dad ever. Jaxon, as expected, does not take the news well. He leaves the house to do some soul searching, which involves confronting his demons from his overseas mission that causes him PTSD.

Leaving Julia alone, and feeling abandoned by this, especially with her crazy stalker searching for her. When Julia is kidnapped and her life is put at risk, Jaxon may just be too late to tell her how he feels.
Now let me tell you, most of this book I HATED Jaxon, honestly.
I couldn't understand why sweet Julia was with him at all. He just did not treat her that well at all. He cant even commit to a relationship, but Julia has the mindset "I can change him". I read this book in one sitting because the storyline is intense and very well written. I would have given it 4 stars but I really expected more between the two, more passion, more possesion, more of him changing etc.
Highlights & Notes:
Jaxon's Military friends are there and ready to be by his side in anyway possible
The over seas mission involved the sex trafficking so read with caution as this involves very young girls being apart of this.
