Book Summary:

Eric is a hockey goalie with one goal of his hide as much of his sizable presence behind desks, lockers and hockey pads. That is, until a new girl named Marlow arrives at school and can't hide her adoration of the 6'6" bruiser. Both of them are inexperienced in the ways of love, but their attraction is a magnetic force—and soon enough, they're spending their lunch period in the shadows of the library, sating each other's hunger. But why won't Marlow introduce him to her parents? Is she ashamed of his freakish appearance or...is she scared to tell him something?

Book Review:

If I had to sum up my reaction to this book, it would be this

No Seriously. They are seniors in high school who literally just met. I enjoy a good romance novella, but this just wasn't it. It was just way too much, and too little, and too fast for two teenagers. There just wasn't much to this book besides kinks, sex, and ending abruptly with a 7 year later Epilogue. The story line wasn't there, there was absolutely no plot either. Just, I don't know. Again, bitch, what the fuck.

Highlights/ Notes/ Spoilers

  • I’m the 6’6” ogre sent to stomp them all to death. Here he comes. Run for your lives.

  • I’m trying so hard, because if I got an erection at school, I’d probably get expelled for possession of a deadly weapon.

  • “Where did you come from? A fairy tale?” I blurt. Loudly. “Mr. Von Hagen,” admonishes the teacher, several students turning their heads. “Sorry.” I assume Marlow is going to be horrified by my outburst. Instead, she waits until the class returns to the lesson, before giving me her attention again. “Did I come from a fairy tale?” She reaches over and traces the back of my hand with her index finger. “I was wondering the same thing about you.”

  • “Dead as a doornail, yes,” I whisper, unable to keep the horror out of my tone. “She was walking out of an iHop. One minute, she was eating pancakes. The next, she was one.”

My Exact Reaction to this part.
My Exact Reaction to this part.
  • “Listen, Fairy Tale.” He points at the door of the classroom. “If you make it through this whole day without finding a better guy, if you still want to be my girlfriend after seeing everyone who’s out there wanting a shot with you, I will…still wonder if I’m fucking dreaming. But I will proudly and confusedly be your boyfriend.”

  • Oh my God, she’s so cute, she’s going to give me a heart attack, isn’t she?

  • “Come all over me, Daddy,”

  • He’d have no problem getting me pregnant.

  • This ferocious need to impregnate my teenage girlfriend, when logic and facts tell me that early parenthood can present a lot of problems.

    Seriously.
    Seriously.
  • To tell him the undeniable truth I learned through the internet. “I think I’m a come slut.”

  • She’s got a little candy shop down here between her legs and I’m the first and last customer.

  • “The idea of having a wife turns you on?” “No. The idea of having you as my wife turns me on.”

  • “Don’t you want to get me pregnant?” “Yes!” I roar, my answer coming from some deep, dark unknown cavern in my chest. I say it with bared teeth, my fingers pressed high and deep inside of her. “I’ve got the biggest wad for you, baby. You won’t be getting your period once I give it to you.”
